Lawrenceburg is the county seat for Anderson County, Kentucky. My wife and I always visit this lovely town on our way up north to visit relatives in Indiana. It’s a small town with lots of history and it always reminds of where
we grew up.
While we are there, we like to stop at the Four Roses Winery. We do some tasting and select a couple bottles to take home with us for special occasions. On the way around this rustic and charming area we make it a must to
visit what is called the Healing Field. It is an awesome wall titled the Veterans Wall Of Honor. After that we
like to pull in and park in downtown and just walk and window shop. A milkshake for me and an ice cream cone
for my wife makes the walk more enjoyable.
Boy we have worked up an appetite and need to decide what we want to eat. They have excellent choices and I think we eat at a different place each time we pass through. From a BBQ barn, to diner style, to fast food, to
Chinese, and American the decision is hard to make. BBQ seems to be calling our name. That new restaurant
that features country cooking sounds great too.
Next time we go through Anderson County, we plan on spending a weekend here in the quaint little town of Lawrenceburg. That way we can explore the shops more. We also want to take a tour of the Wild Turkey
Distillery. They say it is pretty awesome and has a nice gift shop as well. I love this quaint little historical town
and can’t wait to come back and explore it further. There are really great restaurants we definitely want to check out. Look out Lawrenceburg here we come again and I can’t wait!
